The Pitch: The Plantronics 925 Bluetooth headset is a high-fashion wireless headset that features a unique V-frame design for better audio quality, and comes with a nice leather carrying case that features its own battery for convenient recharges while out on the town. It also offers what are probably the most comfortable and secure ear gels that I have ever come across in a Bluetooth headset. Its main battery is good for 5 hours of talk time between charges, and the headset comes in black, pink, and gold colors. It lists for $149.99.

Pros:
The 925 features not only great audio, but it is also very comfortable to wear. The ability to keep it safe, sound, and fully charged in its battery-equipped case is very nice, too. The long V-frame microphone boom keeps the mic close to your mouth.

Cons:
This is far from a small and unobtrusive device. It’s hard to miss somebody wearing one of these — especially in the pink color. The price is a bit high, but probably still worth it.

Recommendation: While it’s not the very best sounding Bluetooth headset on the market, it is probably the most unique-looking and well-rounded in real-world use. The fact that it is comfortable to wear and can be recharged a couple of times without a wall power source is icing on the cake. It wouldn’t be my first pick, but I wouldn’t begrudge the Plantronics 925 a chance at moving on in the Last Gadget Standing competition.

How it works:

We welcome any and all 'hot' products slated to appear at CES. Our experts screen them. They'll continue to narrow the list until we get to a Top 25 and then a Top 10. We'll also conduct a online vote among the Top 25 to determine a "people's winner." The Top 10 will appear at a CES supersession where a live voting audience will determine which deserves to be the Last Gadget Standing.

When: Saturday, 10:30 a.m., Jan. 9, 2010

Where: Room N255-257, LVCC, North Hall, 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
