The Pitch: The problem with video eyewear is that it’s heavy and uncomfortable. Nose-denting, and never mind that you look like a cross between CIA and Borg drone. Vuzix Wrap 920 puts the fashion into video eyewear with its crafted cool-sunglasses look. Behind those cool shades, the glasses provide you with a video picture that recreates the experience of sitting in your living room and watching a 62-inch display from about 9 feet away. Now that’s home theater.

Because the glasses will work with the iPhone and other mobile devices ,you’ll be able to carry your own home theater right along with you, though no one will know what you’re watching behind those fashionable shades.

Pros: A big step forward in fashionable view-wear, the Vuzix Wrap 920 appears to have made strides with using super-lightweight material.

Cons: I wore the Oakley MP3 glasses for awhile which make a similar claim for matching digital music with fashionable sunglasses. I spent most of that time feeling around my head for the right on/off forward/back buttons. Hence I’m skeptical.

Recommendation: At the time of this review not all the product details were available but it’s doubtful you’ll be watching HD quality and the “see through optics” that let you respond to both the world beyond your glasses and inside your glasses can be disorienting. I’m not sure that the Vuzix should continue on in the LGS competition.

I have tried them and I must say that I'm surprised how good they are. They work perfectly connected to both my iPhone and Playstation 3. Gadget of the year! I bought mine from a friend in Sweden who bought them on www.videoglasogon.com.

These have finally been released in the UK. Has anybody actually tried them? the last review read like he had just read the marketing.

Our Host: Robin Raskin

How it works:

We welcome any and all 'hot' products slated to appear at CES. Our experts screen them. They'll continue to narrow the list until we get to a Top 25 and then a Top 10. We'll also conduct a online vote among the Top 25 to determine a "people's winner." The Top 10 will appear at a CES supersession where a live voting audience will determine which deserves to be the Last Gadget Standing.

When: Saturday, 10:30 a.m., Jan. 9, 2010

Where: Room N255-257, LVCC, North Hall, 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
