We’re narrowing down the race. Here, based on the judges’ analysis and some input from you on the face-off ballots, are our top contestants. Check out the Top 25 below, and then we’ll narrow them down to to the ten finalists that will vie for the number one spot.
1. Come CES, we’re all going to need one of these. The emWave PSR is an affordable, portable biofeedback tool. Made by HeartMath, it is an effective and convenient way to reduce stress, balance emotions, and increase performance. The emWave PSR uses colorful LED displays, audio feedback, and a powerful stress-relief technique to help you relax.
2. Grow your own gadget: Bug Labs promises to release your inner inventor by supplying you with a modular and programmable electronic unit called the Bug, which can be assembled to create new devices. Think Heathkit for the Internet generation.
3. Netbook Wars: ASUS, Acer and others launched some gorgeous machines, but the MSI Wind captured some mindshare — and market share. Wait until you see what they’re doing next.

4. Blackberry lovers rejoice: The RIM Blackberry Bold proved that the office thumb wheel bunch could get a really great smartphone, too.
5. Feel the explosion. TN Games 3rd Space Vest adds a bit of physical reality to PC gaming — especially first-person shooters. The vest has 8 air cells that can be rapidly inflated to simulate the position and intensity of bullet fire, explosions, and let you really feel the game.
6. Slicker than the original Flip Video, the new Flip MinoHD is said to be the “world’s smallest high-definition camcorder” at just over 3 ounces. And the price is just right.
7. The LiveScribe Pulse SmartPen fuses the intelligence of a computer with the intuitive form of a pen. Dubbed the first “smartpen,” this Montblanc-size computer records and syncs audio to what you write, so you never miss a word. Some of the applications developed for the pen, such as the language translator, are way cool.
8. What’s 1.2 pounds and has a GPS built in? It’s Fujitsu’s new LifeBook U820, and it is a head-turner.
9. The Motorola MotoZine ZN5 is a phone camera that can reliably replace your digital camera without producing embarrassing results. It’s a 5-megapixel camera, has a solid flash, does video, and it’s a nice phone, too.
10. If you want a swift kick in your sound system, the wireless ButtKicker is a wireless speaker that sends bass — accurately, powerfully, and musically — directly into your couch, chair, or seat.

11. Audio Bone Headsets: Deeming traditional headsets as unsafe for the ears, these transmit stereo sound directly through your ear bones to your inner ear, bypassing the eardrum. Plus, they’re waterproof.
12. Apparently Americans kill close to one-third of their plants. PlantSense EasyBloom uses sensor technology to gather data about your plant and its environment, making sure that no plant ever dies without a fight.
13. The Fujitsu ScanSnap 300 is lightweight, portable and inexpensive. It claims to be the world’s smallest ADF (automatic document feed), double-sided scanner.

14. Psyko 5.1 PC Gaming Headphones bring realistic 5.1 sound to all of your favorite games.
15. 12-megapixel images and a 3-inch LCD are not all that it takes to be a standout. Panasonic Lumix G1 is the first camera to use the Micro Four Thirds System which allows manufacturers to satisfy consumers who want a more compact body, interchangeable lenses, and great image quality.
16. The T-Mobile G1 powered by Google Android is the first generation of what’s sure to be the era of the “really smart” phone.
17. The laborious work of transferring analog video into a digital format is considerably diminished by using the Pinnacle Video Transfer, which allows you to copy analog video from any source in MPEG-4 quality to any USB 2.0 storage device, without using a PC.
18. Some robots are really useful; others provide great companionship. WowWee’s newest product, Joebot, is one of the latter. Joebot is a walking, talking, interactive buddy, and with more personality than robots before him. Joebot is filled with comedic chatter, kind of like having your own cartoon friend.
19. The original Eye-Fi made it possible for you to wirelessly upload your photos from your digital camera to your computer or any photo site. Now Eye-Fi wants to do the same thing with your videos.
20. It may look like a simple cable, but the Clickfree Transformer turns any ordinary USB hard drive into a Clickfree Automatic Backup hard drive.
21. Send music, videos, images, and more to anywhere in your home with the Linksys by Cisco Media Hub.
22. What’s tiny, rugged, water resistant, and can shoot HD video? Why, this little camera, that’s what. Meet Kodak’s new Zx1 video camera.
23. Back up a minute… well, it may take more than a minute, but you can back up as much as 64GB with SanDisk’s Ultra Backup solution. 64 gigs isn’t a ton, but keep in mind, this is the size of a thumb drive.
24. Listen to radio without the ads or the talk. Myine Abbee Records distills FM broadcasts down to the good stuff, and records it for your time-shifted listening.
25. And last, but not least, is the ViewSonic FuHzion VX2265wm, which brings a whole new dimension (the third) to gaming. This 3D monitor pushed the envelope in display technology enough to earn it a semifinalist spot.
But who will be the Top 10 Finalists? Keep your eyes peeled for our results on January 8.
