Filming extreme sports is the best way share the excitement and fun of your latest jump, mountainbike excursion, or even the occasional alpine yard sale. But it’s hard to pedal, paddle, or pop a wheelie when you’re toting around a handheld cam. And expensive frame- or helmet- mounted cameras lack the versatility to go into any shooting condition, any time. But the people at VholdR (VEE-holder) aim to address that with their VholdR Video Camera.
This modular camera is easy to snap into and remove from a variety of mounts, or you can just go with the strap mount. Two lasers help you like up a level shot, and the whole assembly rotates, making it easy make sure the image is level even when the camera isn’t. The camera records 30fps, 640 x 480 video to microSD for easy file transfers (or you can go the USB route).
Battery life is about two hours, which isn’t bad, but it would be better if the unit could manage high-definition. The product did not make it into the Last Gadget Standing competition, but we wish it did, if only so we could mess around with it.
