The Pitch: While there are a number of 3D monitors on the market today, ViewSonic’s latest offering consists of a single panel (most use dual-panel technology) and operates at 120Hz. The single panel allows the VX2265wm to support a 120Hz frame rate and 1,680 x 1,050 HD resolution. The VX2265wm is also compatible with NVIDIA’s 3D Vision Kit, and will allow a gamer to play more than 100 of the top PC games in 3D.
Pros: The ViewSonic VX2265wm will play more than 100 PC games in 3D at 120Hz and 1,680 x 1,050 HD resolution. Those stats alone make it a must for a gamer.
Cons: While gamers ill love it, the rest of the world (including the networks) has not adopted 3D.
Recommendation: ViewSonic is known for putting out great monitors. One can only assume that this latest one will set a new standard for enjoying HD-quality 3D gaming (though I haven’t seen it in the flesh). While the ViewSonic’s 3D abilities are cool and easily get it to the semifinalist stage, I feel that it lacks the broad-based appeal to take the whole competition.
