The Eye-Fi Video Card and the HeartMath emWave PSR! These two products deserve resounding praise for winning the live and online portions of our contest, respectively.
First, the Eye-Fi: Though this product is still in the process of development, the crowd at CES felt it deserved to be the winner of the Last Gadget Standing competition. An SD card with Wi-Fi built-in, the Eye-Fi Video Card lets you send images and video from your digital camera.
The annual Last Gadget Standing competition is a live event where ten gadgets duke it out for consumers’ affection. Bloggers in the NetShelter Network reviewed more than 150 products, and narrowed the list to ten gadgets that represent the most relevant products to consumers’ lives, as well as the directions the consumer electronics industry is headed. At the standing-room-only competition, each of the finalists gave a four minute demonstration of their products to the live audience, who then voted for the gadget they felt was the best.
After all of the finalists gave their presentations, all of the products were introduced again, while a sound meter measured the applause of the crowd. Though it was a close race, the Eye-Fi elicited the most claps and cheers, catapulting it into first place.
But that was not the only winner at the show. Right behind the Eye-Fi in applause was the HeartMath emWave PSR, which was the readers’ choice and the winner of the online portion of Last Gadget Standing. LGS readers flocked to the (online) polls and voted the eWave into a landslide victory.
The HeartMath is a portable biofeedback tool that monitors your heart rate and breathing and relays the information back to you so that you can center yourself, lower heart and respiration rate, and relieve stress. The answer to stress relief is literally right in the palm of your hand.
