Video: Brian Fox of Eastman Kodak goes over the appeal of the Kodak Z980 prosumer digital camera.
You want more power than a pocket point-and-shoot camera offers, but you don’t want the difficult settings or high price of a professional DSLR. What do you do? If you listen to Kodak, the answer is to go for the Z980.
This prosumer camera has a strong, 24x zoom for zeroing in on little Johnny or Janey in the middle of a middle of a knot of soccer players. A vertical shutter button helps make portrait-oriented shots a snap (ugh). And a hotshoe up top lets you add a professional flash for extended range. And unlike the DSLR set, the camera is a median $399. This is certainly no Last Gadget contender, but it appears to be a decent camera on the surface.
