Top 25 BadgeThe Pitch: The Clickfree C2 is the next step in portable hard drives.  It’s perfect for transferring data from one operating system to another, such as Windows XP to Windows 7, or Windows to Mac. Just click the restore button and your digital files, email attachment and anything you need is transferred seamlessly to your new system in its original location. You also have the ability to schedule backups as long as the device is connected, and it uses 256-bit accelerated encryption so you can backup without slowing your computer down. It also allows you to burn files and music directly to CDs or DVDs. Additionally, the Clickfree C2 can import music from your iPod/iPhone to any computer. A cable is even integrated so all you need is your computer.

Pro: It’s easy to use, and fits up to 500GB of data.  Restores files to original locations.  Integrated Cable. Ability to share Facebook and Myspace photos directly from the device.  Windows 7 ready.

Con: It weighs in at $139.99 ($189.99 for the 500GB model)

Recommendation: This product should move ahead because it includes all the significant features people look for in external backup with no hassle. It’s also easy for travel because it needs no additional devices.

Our Host: Robin Raskin
...is a veteran tech journalist and founder of Living in Digital Times. She created Last Gadget Standing.

How it works:

We welcome any and all 'hot' products slated to appear at CES. Our experts screen them. They'll continue to narrow the list until we get to a Top 25 and then a Top 10. We'll also conduct a online vote among the Top 25 to determine a "people's winner." The Top 10 will appear at a CES supersession where a live voting audience will determine which deserves to be the Last Gadget Standing.

When: Saturday, 10:30 a.m., Jan. 9, 2010

Where: Room N255-257, LVCC, North Hall, 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
