The Pitch: Voco is a whole-home entertainment and information system that uses voice to carry out your commands. The Voice Commander handheld controller has a microphone, speaker, and LCD screen, and the Vzone Player connects to powered speakers or your entertainment system. The system supports up to 32 Players that can be sync’d to play the same or different content via your Wi-Fi network. “Agents” for music, news, weather, stocks, and more come with the system and don’t require a subscription.

Pros: Voice driven. Controller has speaker and headphone jack.

Cons: Requires a PC with Internet connection. Expensive: $600 for a Commander/Player combo

Recommendation:
There’s a lot of competition for whole-house audio systems, but Voco’s unique approach deserves to advance to the next round to see if it’s interesting enough.

Our Host: Robin Raskin

How it works:

We welcome any and all 'hot' products slated to appear at CES. Our experts screen them. They'll continue to narrow the list until we get to a Top 25 and then a Top 10. We'll also conduct a online vote among the Top 25 to determine a "people's winner." The Top 10 will appear at a CES supersession where a live voting audience will determine which deserves to be the Last Gadget Standing.

When: Saturday, 10:30 a.m., Jan. 9, 2010

Where: Room N255-257, LVCC, North Hall, 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
