The Pitch: Voco is a whole-home entertainment and information system that uses voice to carry out your commands. The Voice Commander handheld controller has a microphone, speaker, and LCD screen, and the Vzone Player connects to powered speakers or your entertainment system. The system supports up to 32 Players that can be sync’d to play the same or different content via your Wi-Fi network. “Agents” for music, news, weather, stocks, and more come with the system and don’t require a subscription.
Pros: Voice driven. Controller has speaker and headphone jack.
Cons: Requires a PC with Internet connection. Expensive: $600 for a Commander/Player combo
Recommendation: There’s a lot of competition for whole-house audio systems, but Voco’s unique approach deserves to advance to the next round to see if it’s interesting enough.
