The Pitch: Exercise junkies often pay a mint ti keep their bodies in mint condition by buying many different devices to monitor their progress. But Haier thinks it doesn’t have to be that way. Instead of buying a separate music player, a pedometer and a heart rate monitor, why not simply $60 on this ingenious little Ibiza? It combines the kitchen sink of exercise: music player, pedometer, heart rate monitor, stop watch, and calorie counter into a unit small enough to clip on your belt and get out there. Engineered well, the pedometer has an accelerometer built in so that it provides a more accurate calculation. When you get home you can upload the results of your efforts and even share them with friends on Facebook.
Pro: Integrates fitness and media better than any device out there.
Con: Aging interface requires some button pressing; scroll wheel would be an improvement. DRM is a problem when moving your own music onto the machine.
Recommendation: A nice representation of how big the fitness/music market is this year.
