The Pitch: Eventually all your single-minded devices will converge. Like the printer became the all-in-one that scans and copies for a fraction of the price you used to pay a few years ago, and like digital cameras and smartphones, are slowly becoming synonyms to the masses. Kodak envisions that you can skip the PC altogether when printing your digital photos. Taking advantage of Wi-Fi connectivity, you can share and print pictures directly from your wireless devices (iPhone, Blackberry, etc.).
Pro: It sounds too easy, shoot, and send to print wirelessly, skipping all the middleware apps and processing as needed. Kodak tries to sweeten the deal further by claiming the lowest ink replacement cost in the industry.
Con: Reviewers haven’t been overwhelmed by previous AIO models offered by Kodak. Rather than for its special features, the printers get a few blows for its core printing functionality.
Recommendation: As the industry moves forward, I can’t think of a better way for a printer to become a more integrated part of a household. It’s a trend setter that must get all its functionalities right before it can become a true winner.
