Top 25Believe me, picking products that epitomize emerging technologies at CES ain’t easy. Come to think of it, even getting a cab isn’t easy at CES. But we Last Gadget Standing judges have spent the last few weeks sorting through a fabulous selection of products. I figure our judges have each easily seen at least a couple of hundred new products this year year alone. And when they get a little jaded or overstimulated we turn to you for crowdsourced intelligence.

We’ve choose eighteen products we think you should keep your eye on. (We also have more products–including ones from Fujitsu, Intel, Nvidia, and other companies–that we can’t even talk about until January 5th, when the press day at CES begins.)

You’ll see a special badge next to the posts on our top choices to date. Hearty congratulations to the first batch of finalists:

Acer Iconia two-screen notebook

Asus  U36Jc notebook

Barnes & Noble Nookcolor e-reader

Bringrr Bluetooth phone accessory

Dynamics Card 2.0 smart credit cards

DryCorp DRYcase for phones and cameras

Fujifilm Finepix Real 3D W3 camera

Google Nexus S smartphone

Lark Larkup

LensPen SideKick touchscreen cleaner

Looxcie wearable camcorder

Mad Catz Rock Band 3 MIDI Pro Controller

Laipac S-911 Bracelet Locator

Rullingnet Vinci tablet for toddlers

Sifteo Cubits digital blocks

Sonomax Soundcage headphones

Sony Ericcson LiveView microdisplay

ViewSonic 3DPF8 3D Photo Frame

Our judges will be choosing ten finalists, and the audience at our Last Gadget Standing event at CES will determine the ultimate winner. In the meantime, let us know what you like–or don’t like–about these contenders. (In the coming days, we’ll also give you some head-to-heads to vote on.) Thanks for your input, and follow us on Twitter at @lastgadget2011 for more news.

I personally love these Sonomax Soundcage earbuds. I haven't been able to find any that are comfortable, and on top of that, these ones are apparently safe, no hearing loss will occur. I love the custom fit and the price….can't wait to see them hit the market as well.

2013 Press Release

About

Last Gadget Standing

Last Gadget Standing looks for products that are more than just a flash in the pan. They are products that will endure and are pioneering the ways in which the digital world will change. Any exhibitor at CES can enter a product into the Last Gadget Standing competition--though it must be a device, not a service or software. Products need to have shipped during 2012 or be available for shipping by the end of Q2 of 2013. We honor NDAs and we reserve two spaces for products that have winner potential but won't be announced until the show.

Special Hosts

We're extremely lucky this year to have Gary "Bababooey" Dell'Abate and Jon Hein, of the Howard Stern Wrap Up Show to emcee the Last Gadget Standing . They love products and they love the CES crowd.
