Moixa Smart DC and Storage energy system stores power from local renewables or at off-peak times via smart meter communication, to power an efficient DC-DC network for LED lighting, computing, electronics and gadgets. This reduces inverter and AC/DC lossess, and means you can use energy at peak times and avoid peak energy/carbon cost. If the grid fails, you can keep powering your DC devices, and continue to communicate and compute.  The Moixa Smart DC and Storage energy system is a must going into 2012, with increased energy prices, and a growing DC future.

Smart Meters Are NOT Green.

Concepts and theory sounds great, but upon closer inspection:

1. Customer information from smart meters is NOT formatted for customers and does NOT change customer behavior towards conservation.

2. Increased utility rates may decrease energy usage but that can be done with inexpensive time-of-use meters, NOT requiring expensive smart meters.

3. The cost – benefit of smart meters is horrendous and is being promoted to profit the utility companies and their suppliers, not customers or our society or our environment.

4. The Smart Grid does NOT use or require a smart meter on each home. The necessary smart information can be gathered much more efficiently and timely and inexpensively at energy distribution points. (The smart grid does not care how much power any one home uses.)

5. The vast amount of unnecessary and nearly useless information to be handled and stored may actually end up raising energy usage.

6. This massive Billions-of-dollars smart meter program will leave NO funds for programs that would truly bring energy saving solutions and the public will not be receptive to real solutions after being burned by these Smart meters.

 (2) DNA Chain Breaks

from levels of non-ionizing radiation lower than emitted by WIRELESS Smart meters.

9. RADIATION MEASURED FROM SMART METER MOUNTED ON A HOME (once active in the utility system) SHOWS RADIATION TRANSMISSION PULSES APPROXIMATELY ONCE EVERY FOUR SECONDS 24 HOURS PER DAY traveling through the bodies and brains of the inhabitants of that home.

NOTE: many of the tests on non-ionizing radiation (the type of radiation emitted by smart meters) have been done using instruments other than smart meters because smart meters have only been in people’s homes for a very short time.

But as a Wireless smart meter emits 100 times more radiation than a cell phone, it is not difficult to project. If a machine gun (smart meter) fires 100 bullets in the same time that a pistol (cell phone) fires one bullet, it is not difficult to project the harm that the machine gun can inflict, even if the tests were done with the pistol.

Wow robin you obviously don’t like smart meters

This technology is not a smart meter! It is an energy system that powers all things DC in your home such ad DC LED lighting , computing, electronics

We agree real time displays and smart meter data rarely changes consumer behaviour, nor does high prices (think petrol price hikes). What matters most is powering energy as efficiently and economically as possible. For moixa this means getting rid of ac/dc and inverter losses, using intelligence to turn off related devices when not needed, providing cost benefit/subsidy to help change to efficient devices (like led lighting or dc oled tv) and pulling power from solar during the day to use in the evening or charging over night when power is cheaper

Without technology like moixa for powering and storing energy we agree the smart grid/meter won’t work as there is little smart things they can do

Does “local renewables” include solar panels installed on a user’s house? I think this is a good idea in theory, but would having a DC power storage mean that you have to rewire a bunch of things in your house that you want to connect to DC? Isn’t that inefficient for the user?

About

Last Gadget Standing

The Last Gadget Standing looks for products that are more than just a flash in the pan. They are products that will endure and are pioneering the ways in which the digital world will change. Any exhibitor at CES can enter a product into the Last Gadget Standing – though it must be a , not a service or software. Products need to have shipped during 2011 or be available for shipping by the end of Q2 of 2012. We honor NDAs and we reserve two spaces for products that have winner potential but won’t be announced until the show.

Old timers, sorry, but we’ve had to include a small entrée fee this year to cover the costs of the production and space. There is a $500 entry fee.

How We Judge Your Products

Our panel of expert judges have multiple years of expertise in reviewing products. Judges include Michael Miller, Harry McCracken, Dan Costa, Mellissa Perenson, and Joanna Stern. Our experts review your applications and narrow the list down to 25 semi-finalists. Each product submitted gets a description on the website and readers are welcome to comment. The judges will write reviews of the 25 semifinalists and we’ll continue to solicit reader comments until we narrow the list down to the Top 10.

The Top Ten finalists are invited to the Vegas stage where we play to a full house. Entertainment and fun are just and important as educating the audience about your product. We encourage you to watch the videos from past years and get a feel for this very different type of event. At the same time that the audience is voting live in Las Vegas we will also be asking our online followers to vote among the same top ten and choose a "people's winner." A press release announcing the winners will go out the moment the show has ended.

Special Host

We’re extremely lucky this year to have Gary “Bababooey” Dell’Abate and Jon Hein, of the Howard Stern Wrap Up Show to emcee the Last Gadget Standing . They love products and they love the CES crowd.
