Bringing a brand new angle to the iPhone accessory market, GoPano micro offers novices and professionals alike the ability to capture the world in 360 video – right in the palm of their hand.

Designed to make 360 video easy for everyone, the GoPano micro offers iPhone users the ability to record everything around them with the innovative 360 lens and software (patents pending).

The two-piece GoPano micro case is simply snapped onto the iPhone along with the 360 lens and from there, users can capture the 360 action all around them by just pressing record. The design of the device lets users simultaneously preview and record live 360 videos.

Uploading videos is just as easy. Together with the GoPano micro optic, the free GoPano app lets users create immersive, 360 video directly from their iPhone. The video can then be uploaded through the GoPano app or on gopano.com and shared with friends and family, creating an experience that’s unique to each viewer.

Users can also view the most popular videos—or friends’ videos—right from their iPhone or by visiting gopano.com, the only 360 video sharing network on the web. Users can also share their creations on popular social media websites.

EDITOR’S REMARKS

GoPano’s micro takes your iPhone camera and transforms it into a 360 degree panoramic view camera. A special lens attaches to the phone and GoPano’s free app is installed in the phone. There are other panoramic cameras on the market, but we were impressed with GoPano’s software and solid lens. Gadget magazine describes it as your own personal Google StreetView. The output is terrific.

This is one crappy looking attachment. It reminds me of an ice cream cone and really detracts from the iPhone’s design.

The Kogeto dot is much cooler looking for about the same price.

I love the GoPano Micro definitely the best gadget of 2011.

Once you capture a special moment in 360 old fashioned single perspective seems to be missing something.

The GoPano micro enables you to create 360 degree panoramic videos with your iPhone 4. It’s simple to use: Download the GoPano app (free on iTunes). Snap on the GoPano micro lens. Then, tap the record button.

The unique feature of this lens is that it records EVERYTHING SIMULTANEOUSLY. That means that, in addition to what you see through the lens, it’s also recording you, the operator, at the same time. You can see in ALL directions just by scrolling around. This is perfect for traveling, at concerts, and at sporting events.

After I finished my first video, I wondered what was different from using this device versus using the iPhone’s built-in camera video. I noticed several things:

(1) You can’t scroll around in all directions in a video made from iPHone like you can with the GoPano,

(2) You can’t see yourself in the iPhone video unless you deliberately shoot in your direction,

(3) the field of view is smaller in the iPhone camera video whereas the GoPano gives you wide-angle recording, and

(4) the video made with the iPhone camera is much crisper and better quality. I gave it four stars because the resolution is not up to iPhone camera standards.

If you’re looking for a unique Christmas gift or a fun recording device to take on trips or attend events, the GoPano is recommended. It’s unique, fun to use, and even more fun to share the results! Free online sharing of videos created with GoPano is available on their website. Check out the videos there and try scrolling on them to get ideas of how this works.

After using this technology, viewing regular video will never be the same. This is a really cool device. May be a window into the future of things to come. GoPano team, nice job.

I discovered the GoPano Micro about a month and a half ago. I was blown away from the very beginning as to the profoundly amazing new paradigm in Videography it allows me to create.

I am a motivational speaker and professional interviewer and have now started to utilize the GoPano Micro in many of my interviews.

EVERYONE who sees the interviews that were recorded in Full Interactive 360° Panoramic Video are absolutely BLOWN AWAY! They are amazed at how they can see the full spectrum of the Panoramic Experience and simply drag and click in Facebook to see all 360° of the Video.

The first question every single person asks me after they see my videos is where can they buy a GoPano Micro. I am always delighted to tell them where they can purchase one for themselves.

This optic for the iPhone 4 and 4S gets a HUGE DOUBLE THUMBS UP FROM ME THE LEX MAN, AS THE NEXT HIG THING AND THE MOST EXCITING NEW PARADIGM IN VIDEO SINCE VIDEO WAS INVENTED!

This is a really fun and useful product. I record my family outings in 360 now and share them. Everybody thinks this is a really killer product. And they all begged me to get them one for Christmas. Hahahah. So I did!

The experience of recording and viewing 360 video using the GoPano Micro is nothing short of breathtaking. It is extremely easy to get going right out of the box and the on-screen action is smooth and fluid. I’ve yet to show a friend who didn’t gasp out loud upon exploring the 360 field of view for the first time WHILE recording. Fantastic.

The GoPano micro from EyeSee360 is one of the hottest gadgets on the market right now. Currently available as an accessory for your iPhone, though will likely extend to other types of mobile phones too. EyeSee360 is revolutionising everyday video recording and viewing experiences, by enabling you with GoPano micro (hardware accessory including software) to video 360 images in real-time. In effect you can record everything around you simultaneously in a single shot, without even having to turn yourself or the device around in order to do so. You can also preview the 360 video as you record. Take a video live, in real time at a concert, at your holiday destination, at a sports game, at an event, or at a celebration and share the video with friends, family or colleagues, who can navigate the video footage you have taken, and in 360-view get an immersive experience with 6x the standard panoramic footage. As a viewer you get to control the Point Of View you want to watch in, almost as if you were there, regardless of which direction “the cameraman” was facing at the time of recording.
All of this makes for a more absorbing viewing experience, as you can watch the same clip several times from a different perspective, and get something different every time. Plus you don’t have to be a technical wizard to record, upload, or share your footage with friends. The EyeSee360 software does that all for you with a simple click. It wont be long I suspect, before this type of viewing experience reaches TV and gaming too. Technology developed with professionals in mind, but accessible to consumers, with the GoPano micro priced at a reasonable $79.95 you can have the future of video in your hands!

The GoPano is awesome, I love it! MacWorld wrote a great article putting the two head to head. They recommend the GoPano over the dot. Here’s the article: http://www.macworld.com/article/164137/2011/12/shoot_360_degree_iphone_4_4s_videos_with_kogeto_dot_and_gopano_micro.html

There’s no question that it’s pretty rad how I, an everyday iPhone user, can take 360 panoramic videos in an instant with the super easy to use GoPano micro attachment & GoPano app! This thing is going to revolutionize the video scene! Great gift for the holidays too, if you know someone with an iPhone – get ‘em a GoPano micro for sure.

The GoPano Micro is THE NEXT BEST THING TO TELE-PORTATION THAT EXISTS IN OUR GOOD PLANET EARTH!
When a person views an interactive video that was recorded using The GoPano Micro, it’s almost as if the viewer was there. A viewer can simply click
And drag in Facebook to view an immersive, interactive 360° Panoramic Video. It is also incredibly easy to create a 360° video since you record video just like you normally wanted using your iPhone.

The GoPano Micro may look odd, but it is by far the best attachment for 360deg video out there!
Whilst the ‘other’ lenses may be attached on the back of the case, they also have a VERY reflective outer cover that produces light reflections viable on the video playback. The GoPano micro does not have this problem, personally speaking it should also be easier to hold than the ‘other’ rear facing lenses that need you to hold the iPhone flat. The GoPano Micro is easily used by holding your iPhone in the natural way, upright.
Go GoPano go…!!!

Cool AND practical. I use this every week in my work as an experience designer and facilitator. GoPano doesn’t miss a detail, from both sides of a conversation to the detail of a store design, it’s awesome. Sharing is quick and easy too. Any researcher, anthropologist, or designer should have one for work. Any art student, sculptor, photographer, surveyor, contractor, landlord, and many others should use this product too. And, it’s just cool to capture personal moments with too. Like everyone singing happy birthday around a kid. Two thumbs up!!

About

Last Gadget Standing

Last Gadget Standing looks for products that are more than just a flash in the pan. They are products that will endure and are pioneering the ways in which the digital world will change. Any exhibitor at CES can enter a product into the Last Gadget Standing competition--though it must be a device, not a service or software. Products need to have shipped during 2012 or be available for shipping by the end of Q2 of 2013. We honor NDAs and we reserve two spaces for products that have winner potential but won't be announced until the show.

Special Hosts

We're extremely lucky this year to have Gary "Bababooey" Dell'Abate and Jon Hein, of the Howard Stern Wrap Up Show to emcee the Last Gadget Standing . They love products and they love the CES crowd.
